Annie came to us in 2024 with her half sister Mae. She lives up to her name of being sassy and is often times zooming around the pasture and harassing her sister. She is what is called a "no lights points" (NLP) Donkey which means she lacks the typical light-colored muzzle, eye rings, belly and inner legs and instead has dark coloring in those areas. This is a rare, recessive trait. We can't wait to see her babies.

Meet Pablo! He is a standard jack and was rescued from an abusive, neglectful situation where he lived in fear, resulting in deep distrust of humans. Upon rescue, he was in rough condition, most notably with feet that had not been trimmed in a long time, making it difficult for him to walk comfortably. Due to his high fear levels, significant coaxing was required to get him loaded onto a trailer and safely transported to his new, loving home.
Because of his age and the severe trauma he experienced, the donkey struggles to handle human interaction, particularly in a veterinary or farrier context. To ensure he can receive necessary medical attention and have his hooves properly maintained, he requires veterinary sedation for any work. This, along with pain management for potential long-term, chronic conditions, is a vital part of his rehabilitation.
While Pablo continues to build trust with us, his past trauma means he will likely require sedation for all future veterinary and farrier care to keep him, and his caretakers, safe. His story is one of resilience, with his care focusing on providing him a comfortable life where he can finally heal from his emotional and physical wounds.

Your support and contributions will help pay for veterinary, housing and feed expenses for rescue donkeys.
